These types are wheelchairs are built for adults and children in other countries who can not afford the typical wheelchairs seen in countries that don't have high poverty rates.

These chairs can be built using bike wheels and quickly assembled and gotten to the people who need them. Like ones who lost limbs to mines.

They may not "look pretty" or "fancy", but it does what it was meant to do.; April 8, 2010 4:08 PM
